Hi. I'm Tracy.
It can be scary when things veer off the path you expected to be on. Nearly 20 years ago, that happened to me in a major way when my middle son was diagnosed with a fatal muscle wasting disease. Facing this unexpected and unwelcome twist, I had no idea how I would survive -- let alone thrive.
Looking back on the past two decades, I've had so many incredible experiences that arose from that left turn that came out of nowhere. I came to embrace, rather than fear, doing things differently. And by that I mean different from what everyone else seems to be doing, different than expected -- either by myself or by others.

I figured I'd start sharing some of my own "left turn" stories in the hope that my friends, family, anyone who reads this will embrace the unexpected and find the joy rather than succumb to the fear, maybe even get a thrill out of doing things a different way. I'm finding that embracing the left turns enriches my life in ways small and huge -- from going vegan to finding undiscovered travel locales to figuring out how to live happily and fully when your child has a debilitating disease.
My hope is that whatever left turns get thrown at you, you'll take them and embrace them -- hell, even start to actively seek them out.
